Dioxygenase that specifically demethylates N6-methyladenosine (m6A) RNA, the most prevalent internal modification of messenger RNA (mRNA) in higher eukaryotes.Demethylates RNA by oxidative demethylation, which requires molecular oxygen, alpha-ketoglutarate and iron.
